Community Rules
In effect October 1, 2026 · version 2026-10
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.
Meet First is people taking the time to meet for real. These rules keep the community respectful, reliable and safe. They apply in the app, at dates and at events.
The four house rules
- Be yourself. Your real first name, your real age, recent photos of you.
- Show up. Be there when you said yes, on time, or let them know in time.
- Be respectful. Of the other person's limits, opinions, pace and person, before, during and after.
- Meet in public. At the place chosen by the app, as planned.
Your profile
- Photos of you only, where your face can be seen. No photos of other people without their agreement, no children on their own, no nudity or sexual content.
- No contact details in your bio: no number, address, social media or links.
- No promotion: no advertising, selling, recruiting or fundraising.
- One account per person, in your name, and nobody but you uses it.
At dates and events
- Attendance and punctuality: they count in your reliability. Say so before the start if you will be late, and cancel more than 3 hours ahead if you cannot come.
- Do not try to take the other person anywhere other than the planned place unless they clearly want to.
- Respect a "no", a departure or a "Delete" label: do not try to reach the person again by other means.
- Events: the organiser describes the activity, the place and the cost honestly, and never asks the people signed up for money. Members who sign up show up or withdraw in time.
Labels, ratings and reports
- Rate honestly, on what happened during the meeting. No revenge ratings, no pressure to get a rating, no agreements to trade ratings.
- Report in good faith. A false report made to harm someone is itself a breach of the rules.
- Do not get around the rules: no fake check-in, no faked location, no third-party app to gain an advantage.
What never has a place here
- Harassment, threats, intimidation, sharing intimate images or private information.
- Hate toward a person because of their origin, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or appearance.
- Physical or sexual violence, and any sexual act without consent.
- Scams, asking for money, prostitution and exploitation.
- Impersonation and fake profiles.
- Any illegal activity.
- People under 18.
If a rule is not followed
Depending on how serious it is and whether it repeats, we may:
- remove content;
- send a warning;
- limit access to some features, such as organising events;
- suspend or close the account.
Serious conduct (violence, sexual assault, threats, exploitation) leads to the immediate closure of the account, with no refund of a current plan, and may be reported to the police.
Except in an emergency or for safety reasons, we tell you about the measure and the reason. You can contest it within 6 months by writing to support@meet-first.app: another person on our team reviews the file.
